Starting with version 4.2.0.1799, you’ll receive a notification in the task bar of your operating system when a new version of avisor is available for download. Right clicking it opens a small context menu.

Automatic licence renewals

Many of our customers enjoy the benefits of our rental licence model. It involves a software licence for avisor for a specific period, typically a half-year. If the customer has an ongoing relationship with his client using avisor, then the rental licence is then automatically extended for an additional six months. This is an upgrade from the previous renewal process, which required a phone call to update the software licence and prevent it from switching back to demo mode.

Although this process is designed to be very lean and error-proof, we nevertheless have decided to install automated handling. Starting with version 4.2.1797, avisor detects the upcoming expiration of the rental licence and queries the user about an extension via the awato Software website. If a payment for the next rental interval is received before the final expiration of the rental licence, then the program extends the software licence automatically without further action from the user.

For you as an avisor customer, enjoying this benefit is as simple as switching to the latest version of the software and ensuring that payment is received in a timely manner.

Siera, Alpha and X-Ray are thus all things of the past.…

Supplier evaluation using scoring model

One of avisor’s core functions is a performance review of the cooperation between ordering parties and suppliers. A newly released add-on provides an additional metric for evaluation. It is built on a scoring model for your suppliers.

The scoring model is a quantitative, non-monetary analysis method that uses decision theory to help simplify the analysis of numerous complex potential actions. It breaks down the various elements based on the preferences of the decision-maker into a multi-dimensional target system. The ordering is depicted through an assessment of the overall value of the different alternatives.

Scoring models are frequently used when “soft” factors – those not capture by monetary or statistical analysis – are in play and which need to be accounted for during decision making.

  • Assessment of the metrics is performed via freely configurable Actions and Document Status categories that accounting for authorisation structures.
  • The weighting of the criteria can be adapted freely for each configuration.

  • The resulting dialogue offers several options:

1. You can send the database excerpt via email to our Support team
2. You can send the database excerpt via web service to our Support team
3. You can transmit the database excerpt manually

• Once you’ve launched the Wizard

1. You’ll see a progress bar
2. A log entry with the status of the action is displayed
